Sometimes the best sessions come from a last-minute idea you just have to bring to life—and this one was exactly that! I had a vision for a styled shoot and decided to make it happen with two of my favorite girls: Lexy (my daughter!) and Natalie (one of my amazing Class of 2026 CBP senior reps). These two have been friends forever, so I knew the energy would be fun, comfortable, and full of laughs—and wow, did they deliver!

We headed to one of my go-to locations for senior pictures in Mid-Michigan—Clinton Lakes County Park, also known as Motz Park, right here in St. Johns, MI. I had originally hoped for golden hour, but Mother Nature had other plans. It was overcast and windy, but honestly? That soft, diffused light and wind-swept hair gave us such an ethereal, editorial vibe that I secretly loved.

Lexy and Natalie wore soft, flowy floral dresses from my client closet, and they fit the moody meadow setting so beautifully. Whether they were running through the tall grass or sharing a laugh lakeside, everything about this session felt dreamy, effortless, and so them.

As a senior photographer in St. Johns, Michigan, my goal is always to create an experience that’s more than just photos.
